About:
Imperium Umbras is a very tricky Lord.  He enjoys testing mortal horses, and judging how they react to his games.  Umbras is responsible for creating a faction of Equus Ballators who have no idea that the Lords exist.  Many eons ago, the pale stallion used his pide-piper like music to charm groups of EBs away.  Once he had the two groups separated, he erased the memories of the horses he'd charmed, obliterating any mention of the Lords.  Because they have no memory of the Lords, and have never met horses who believe, the chosen of Umbras do not have to chose whether they believe in the Lords or not.  The decision has been made for them by Umbras; they do not know the Lords exist at all, and so cannot chose whether or not to believe.  However, this affliction is not permanent.  If a horse meets Adyti--Umbras's mate--the Oasis mare can restore the memories and beliefs that Umbras has stolen.  Any horse who wishes may be returned to the believers with her help.  With his memory-bending powers and his sense of humor, Umbras sometimes finds horses who have been Blessed by the Lords and changes their memory of the Blessing.  The horses remember getting their Blessing somehow, but do not remember their encounter with the Lord or Lordess.  Often times, Umbras will do this with his own blessings, though his vanity and greed sometimes influence him to leave the memories alone.

Gifts:

Spiritus Aruo:  Gold Breath.  This gift allows a horse to turn objects into gold by breathing upon them.  Unlike the story of King Midas, a horse can choose what it wishes to transform into gold, and there is no risk of accidentally turning a loved one into money.

Sirinium Cantus:  Siren's song.  This gift allows a Ballator the ability to sing so beautifully that no prey animal can resist.  Deer, rabbits, beavers, and any other prey animal there is can be lured in with the siren's song.  Once in a trance, the animal is easy to kill.

Os Fumo:  Smoke Bones.  This gift makes the Equus Ballator's horns and hooves transparent, and fills them with swirling black smoke.  The smoke may be lazily settled in the horns/hooves, or may become agitated when the horse is upset about something.  Adds +4 rarity.

Vesti Fulgenti:  Shining coat.  This gift makes the Equus Ballator's coat extremely shiny and metallic, much like the gold and silver "bloom" of the Akhal-Teke.  This metallic coat is based off Umbras's own shining fur.  Adds +5 rarity.

To Petition A Gift:

Any horse that reaches 100 Stat points is automatically eligible for one gift.  Simply post the name of your horse, a link to their reference, and a link to their stats (if not included with reference), as well as which gift you would like to receive.  Umbras will then grant your wish.

Horses who do not have 100 stat points will sometimes be given gifts, but this is rare and spontaneous. 

Equus Ballator owners who show great consideration and good character may also be randomly rewarded with gifts from Umbras.
